For the tech enthusiasts, this is how your repair works
Almost all OnePlus smartphones now have IP68 water/dust protection. To answer your question, we cannot provide any warranty or guarantee for water protection after a repair.
We install the display panel without a bezel on these devices. This is important because the fingerprint sensor is retained.
First, the technician removes the OnePlus 8T back using heat and an opening tool.
Depending on the model, the logic board, battery and other components are removed until you reach the display connector.
Now the display can be heated up and the OnePlus 8T display can be carefully removed using the same procedure as for the back.
For the display and back bonding we use original adhesive pads or, depending on the model, cold glue which hardens to be water and dust proof.
After 2-3 hours, the OnePlus 8T with a new display is ready and ready for pickup or shipping.
